Digital marketing and comms exec - Bangalore, India

This new role will support marketing and comms for Canalys around the world. You’ll be welcomed to our small, energetic team in Bengaluru and report to the Vice President of Marketing, based in the UK. A small team brings lots of advantages – it’s an environment where every little thing you do can influence business success in a big way. The successful candidate will have had exposure to a range of digital disciplines, including social media, SEO, analytics, email marketing and content marketing. You’ll be the only marketeer based in our Bengaluru office, but will collaborate with the team there and around the world, made up of analyst research, sales, digital and editing teams.

We are excited to have someone join us who is keen to introduce new ways of showcasing Canalys and our services and is excited about trying new approaches. We love new ideas and we have the autonomy to test and learn different strategies. There is lots to be done across the marketing mix. We do most things in-house, so we’re looking for someone to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in!

What will you be working on?
  • Overall, striving to improve our customer journey, particularly at the ‘consideration’ and ‘conversion’ stages.
  • Campaign strategy – working with the analyst and sales teams to identify opportunities for digital campaigns and webinars supporting our brand and services.
  • Creating copy – based mainly on our own highly esteemed analyst research.
  • Producing dynamic, eye-catching visuals for digital campaigns and sales collateral.
  • Supporting improvements to our websites, particularly around SEO, UX and lead generation.
  • Managing, monitoring and improving our owned and earned media (PR, Chinese and Western socials, employee amplification) to increase our presence.
  • Supporting the analyst teams with the PR timeline and building on the highly successful process and results.
  • Helping to evolve our homegrown digital tools, including CRM, client and community onboarding.
  • Ensuring we have the relevant brand assets and helping to drive a consistent approach to our brand’s use.
What will help you succeed in this role?
  • A sound knowledge of all areas of digital online marketing, email campaigns, social media, Google analytics, LinkedIn Campaign manager and paid search.
  • Solid copywriting skills.
  • A good understanding of implementing and tracking SEO and keywords.
  • Some graphic design abilities and keen to learn more (PowerPoint, Photoshop, Canva, etc).
  • A real interest in learning about new marketing trends, technologies and tools.
  • Willingness to take the initiative and learn new skills and share your skills with others.
  • A global mindset – excitement to work with colleagues and external contacts around the world.
  • Flexibility and team spirit – happy help a colleague, even if its outside your usual remit.
  • Understanding of tracking and reporting and best practice.
  • Curiosity about the technology trends that drive Canalys research.
